Praxis Releases in 2024

A quick overview of all Praxis releases that came out in 2024, in the order that they were released.

2024 saw a total of 5 releases on Praxis – all of them in digital format.

There were two albums on the Praxis Digital label – one by Amboss and one by Noirodyn. Both artists have previously released on Praxis, Praxis Digital and on Sub/Version, the Praxis sub-label for hard drum’n’bass and epic breakcore.

praxis_01001 Amboss: Basic Training (March 2024)

Basic Training is a compilation of ten tracks produced by Amboss in the early 2000s, all of which were previously unreleased. Situated between slamming rave tunes, drum’n’bass and breakcore, these conjure up the ecstatic vibes of underground parties and raves of the beginning of the century and haven’t lost any of their forward driving energy.

Amboss’s Praxis catalogue includes two vinyl releases on Sub/Version, Nitro/Razor Pleasure (2007) and Kompressorwahn/Avenida Paulista (2009), followed by two singles for the Sub/Version Digital series, Terrorapparat (2010) and Jük Jük (2011).

2014 saw his EP Vision on vinyl on Praxis, a varied 4-tracker ranging from breakcore to hard drum’n’bass to industrial bass music and techno.

Praxis 39 Base Force One: Dynamite & Fire 2000-2004 (vinyl 2005, digital May 2024)

Base Force One’s Dynamite & Fire, a collection of five tracks produced by Christoph Fringeli between 2000 and 2004 and originally released on vinyl in 2005, appeared in digital format for the first time in May 2024, newly remastered by Alex Buess.

Praxis 57X The Wirebug: Factory Food Remixed (June 2024)

Factory Food is the title track of The Wirebug’s 2019 full length album (Praxis 57). Soon after the release of the album, we started planning on a remix EP, the line-up of which crystallised as including [M], Killabomb, Kovert, Psychic Defence and an extended mix of the original by The Wirebug himself. Originally planned as a limited vinyl EP, we decided in the spring 2024 to release it in digital format only, at least for the time being.

With artists from Kenya, Brazil, the US, UK and Germany, this is not only the most international release on Praxis in terms of where the artists are from and/or based, it also shows very varied approaches, adding new dimensions to The Wirebug’s original track.

PraxisX6 The Wirebug: Busted Gush Remix by Alex Buess (July 2024)

Busted Gush is another track by The Wirebug from his Factory Food album, given the remix treatment by Alex Buess (16-17) as the 6^th instalment in our Praxis Digital Remix Series.

Alex Buess is of course the musician our collaboration goes back the longest – to the pre-Praxis days of the Vision label in the second half of the 1980s. In recent years we released vinyl by 16-17 as well as a new digital release by Cortex, not to forget the previous single in the Remix Series, Buess’s take on Base Force One’s 1997 track Welcome to Violence (PraxisX5, 2023).

Praxis_01010 Noirodyn: Untamed Rhythms (August 2024)

Untamed Rhythms is a full length album by Noirodyn with 15 brand new tracks engaging in danceable yet experimental avenues that could loosely be bracketed as breakcore, but explores different speeds and intensities.

Untamed Rhythms is Noirodyn’s fourth album on Praxis Digital. We also released his album Contruct:Deconstruct on Praxis on CD in 2015 (Praxis 54). Previously he also released two 12”s on Sub/Version under the name Vile Enginez, Overthrow/Undermine (2005) and Cycadelic/Tool (2008).

Planned Vinyl Releases

In 2024 we were planning to get several vinyl projects off the ground. For this purpose we created a fundraising campaign via the Gofundme plattform as well as promoting the “super-subscription” via Datacide. While there was some resonance, both campaigns fell far short of their targets. It wasn’t until the late summer/early autumn that the financing of one release (out of half a dozen) was secure thanks to an additional donation.

This release, Nomex’s Paroxism EP (Praxis 60) will finally appear in the first Quarter of 2025.
